Keep on keeping on

I've been rather lax the last few days in posting, and I apologize to my adoring millions for that. :) So, to recap, here is what has happened. We had our Thursday night MAPP meeting. I didn't think I would make it through, but I did. Yeah!!!! That was meeting 8 of 10. We are almost there!(though we will have to make up meeting 7). Surprisingly enough, we have almost all of the 50 original participants still in the class. Pretty impressive, I think. Our "roadwork" this past week was to write a letter to the birth parents, giving a little preview of your life. That assignment was more difficult than I would have thought, but with some help from my sis, I have a wonderful letter to add to our file.
In the meantime, I have continued to read foster and adoption boards and currently subscribe to one (www.familyforums.com). Other than keeping up homework for the MAPP class, that is about all I've done lately. We already had our fingerprints and background check done. I turned in my autobiography, and my social worker mentioned that she read it last week. She said it was "interesting". That must be socialworker speech for "dsyfunctional". Ha! We have the nursery all ready with the crib and a dresser with both boy and girl outfits, as well as some shoes. We also have some sippy cups, formula, bottles, and some toys. There are more things that we will need, but we will find out when we are done with the classes! It is so exciting!!!!

~GOOD LUCK TAMARA~

Not much else going on. I did take my very first post-op independent car trip today. I went to the library and got some good books to read. That was fun. And I found out what my hubby got me for my birthday. Can you guess???? Here is a hint. Crystal ball. More to come. Have a great weekend! Beth

No Longer In Crisis said...

Wow - you all are so ready for the kids to arrive! It is the most exciting thing we have ever done. And - YAY - court went well today - our foster daughter's goal was changed to adoption, and in 60 days we will go for termination of parental rights. You don't want to see families in crisis, but when it works, it really works! Isn't the amount of paperwork just amazing??

Bzzzzzzz!
