Reader's Digest Version of My Life
Recap of the last few weeks: Guts are getting better very, very slowly. My unrealistic expectations regarding my quick and merely "unpleasant" abdominal surgery were (after 3 full months of extensive research), nothing but delusional fantasies. ~A SHOCKER~ And considering the number of surgeries that I have undergone, my preconceived notions were truly niave. Oh well, that sucks. What can you do? *I also went to visit with my sis in VA. Had a fabulous time in Richmond. It validated the very essence of my bargain hunter's heart. Got lots of good stuff, lots of free stuff, some things really cheap ~ including a beautiful brand new heavy glass water pitcher that I practically stole from a yard sale for a mere 100 cents!!!! WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW *In other news, this Friday, I have an exciting colonoscopy to look forward to (though my guts already feel like they have gone-lytly) followed by an appointment with my GI surgeon. I already know that before any procedure including sedation, I should bring a "I'm Sorry" card to all the folks within hearing. Over the last 8 years, I have heard tales of my horrible, horrible sailor's mouth that appears with those twilight drugs. Unfortunately, I also know that generally, for me, the first 30 minutes of sedation consists of violent sobbing paired with an uncontrollable urge to tell the techs all of my most private secrets. To expect me to actually meet with my surgeon and have a regular appointment with him is just plain silly. But I have a lot of greeting cards stocked up, so I am ready for anything.:) That's all for now. Have a safe Memorial Day Weekend everyone! Beth
