The wonderful world of walmart

I am constantly surprised at the new services/products that my neighborhood walmart offers. I went today to the superwally world for some groceries, but I left with so much more, really and truly. I was on an excursion for the makings (southerners read makin's) for split-pea soup. While there, I asked an older woman about the cooking of such a soup. She had not ever made it before, but was happy to assist me with recipes, freezing options, etc. We had a lovely conversion; me pushing my cart, and her in one of those scooters for folks who don't walk so well. Now the two of us were blocking the aisle with our respective carts, so she told me to move to the front of her scooter, which I promptly did (although she was a different ethnicity from my own Nanny, she reminded me of her quite a bit, so I did as I was told). After ample soup discussion, she asked me for a favor to reciprocate. Apparently, she had come to the walmart after leaving church services because God told her to. I will not dispute this, because there is a very good chance that God did tell her to go to wallyworld. Who am I, right? Right. Well, she asked for some financial help with her groceries. I promptly pulled out my wallet and gave her the bills therein. I just did it because it seemed right at the time, though I had passed many other folks asking for funds in the parking lot. She was happy to know that her groceries would be released from whatever holding area in which they were currently being held. She then began to pray for me in the aisle, very loudly, and very enthusiastically. I can only imagine that God was pleased with this. This woman was speaking in tongues, grasping my hands firmly (to the point that the basket of her cart was pressing uncomfortably into my abdomen), and otherwise blessing me and Glenn with God's gifts. Then, after all that jazz was done, she told me what God had just spoken to her. Are you ready for it? I hope so, because here it is! God told her that in the next 6 months my hubby & I would become involved in a situation with a lot of paperwork. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. This could be any number of things, but of course my thoughts ran to foster care. However, I will just rest easy in the knowledge that just for today, we have food to eat, a warm house, and lots of love. P.S. After checking out of wallyworld, and heading home, I turned on the car radio and heard the following lyrics "Come together right now over me" from Come Together by the Beatles. I felt that my Dad was sending me a little message from the other side, saying he was watching over me and was proud of me. I hope you have warm fuzzy moments in your life as well! Beth
