Life updates

For some time now, I have been plagued with a condition I like to refer to as Lazy Bloggeritis. While my life is still playing out in the ~real world~, my blogging life has come to a standstill. So here are some updates to fuel my worldwide fans. Watch out folks because this is mundane at it's best!

Family Reunion on Mom's side last weekend in Northern VA -
Glenn, Elly & I headed out on a 3 hour drive to the reunion. Mingled with folks I had last seen at the family reunion about 14 years ago. Prior to that, it was 28 years ago, in my mom's arms, for my first family reunion. We ate good food, visited, enjoyed a few summer downpours, had a plethora of photo ops, and headed back on the 3 hour drive home. Glad that I went.


Health -
Humira is still working to calm down the Crohn's disease. Although, thanks to a brand new health insurance as of today, I get to once again, beg and plead in order to approve my meds so I can afford to take them. Looking online yesterday, at my new insurance site, I noticed that just two of my Crohn's meds cost over $21,000 per year. With my previous insurance I paid $110 a month for the same meds. But on the bright side, I am thankfully no longer taking the Remicade that costs over $25,000 a month. After four years of that, I should have the most expensive blood ever. But we'll see.


Family -
Everyone is doing pretty good. Glenn is still a great and patient hubby who works hard for the money. So hard for the money. I am still high-maintenance and pretty happy with my life. Elly is still extremely rotten with no hope for change. Recently though she did learn how to heel *GOOD DOG* and slip out of her leash when the spirit moves her *NOT SO GOOD DOG*.
