Well, it is another one of those insomniac nights, welcome back, my familiar pal. Okay here is a recap of my week thus far.
Monday: Up and at 'em for my 8:30 appointment with the optometrist. While waiting the two hours for my appointment, I noticed the year of his graduation from college, written in ancient hieroglyphics. It was 1956!!!! Even by my old meter (ie GLENN), this dude is ancient! I mean good grief, he finished college before my old hubby was even born! Dang that is old! And yet, when this old, old man said "Let's poke a needle in your eyelid", I said sure! I was thinking that this was a suggestion he was making for me when I returned home. I thought to myself, "Sure! I would love to poke a big needle in my eyelid as soon as I finished covering my open wounds in some nice sea salt." However, when he pulled out a fresh needle, I began to worry slightly. He did put some orajel like drops in my eye first, so I was relieved. Yeah right! He took that dang needle and told me to hold my head still and then began jabbing the eyelid cyst over and over and over again. It hurt, quite a bit actually. The tearing of my eye along with the bleeding seemed to aggravate the old doc, and he yelled at me to "dry up my eyes". Somehow, my eye just naturally thought bleeding and tearing up continually would thwart the old man's efforts. It did not. The doc then decided it was not merely a liquid-filled cyst and realized that he wasn't getting anywhere with the big needle. So, now I have an appointment in May for an actual surgerical procedure to remove the cyst properly. I can't wait!
That was just Monday morning, mind you. Monday evening revolved around the horrible pain in my eye, and the vomiting that followed. Tuesday was pretty bland. I slept most of the day due to all the pain meds I took Monday night to get to sleep. Haven't eaten much today other than crackers. I had a few bites of mac and cheesefor dinner, but I am still feeling really sick, so I brought out the big boys, saltines and ginger ale! I did manage to get out of the house for about a half hour this afternoon to get a really nice infant car seat/carrier. It is a blue Eddie Bauer in great condition that I got from a fellow freecycler. Dang! That is such a great deal~
Okay, going to try some sleep anytime now. Waiting up for the sandman. Come on over Mr. Sandman!!! Please!!!!
