To be or not to be....cheap?

Well, as everyone knows, there are times when being thrifty is wonderful and there are times when you just need to bite the bullet and spend a little dough. Such was the case last week when I purchased some generic-brand Saltines. Now you may ask yourself, how can you screw up Saltines? If you go to wally world and buy some el-cheapos, you will find out instantaneously! First of all, the cheap brand is about a third of the size of the REAL Saltines, the premium ones. And when Saltines make up the majority of your diet, your mouth grows accustomed to the angles of a Premium Saltine. Secondly, the cheap ones are lacking in the crunch factor. Soggy is sad (and you can quote me on that). Thirdly, those yummy little brown bubbles of salty goodness is missing from the generic brand. Everyone knows that the little brown bubbles of salty goodness are the whole essence of the Saltine. Without that, it is merely a semi-soggy piece of cardboard. Therefore, I have decided that from this day forth, as long as I am able, I will spend the extra $.07, and go for the good stuff. I decided this in an extremely lengthy internal conversation with myself last night when I could not sleep. The verdict is final ~ spend the extra change on the Premium Saltines, please!
