Suggestions Welcomed

Our sweet little mutt, Elly Belly, is the love of our lives, really & truly. The hubby & I love her as if she was our very own child, the fruit of our loins, so to speak, and therefore we spoil her to no end, with tons of treats, walks in the park, and new tug toys weekly. It is actually fairly embarrassing to admit the lengths that two grown adults go to in order to give our furry child a happy, fulfilled, and well-rounded life. With that said, Glenn and I have recently begun mixing organic dog food to Elly's usual brand of food. Apparently, organic food is the newest & truest way to show your canine the love deserving of a divine diva such as Elly. This seems to set well with her, other than the fact that she tries to find the new nuggets of delight amongst her normal dog food nuggets, creating a huge & wonderful mess in the kitchen, but otherwise she is quite happy. She has no stomach problems, is doing very well with her weight, and is in general excellent health. There is only one small problem with her recent diet modifications; her lovely puppy kisses have turned into an olfactory horror for the recipient. To remedy this, we have purchased a number of treats and toys promising to turn her horrific breath into a repressed memory for us all. So far though, we have not been successful. Thus, the title. We need help for our Elly. Her social standing (and our poor, sad noses) need your advice. We need something safe, easy, and fairly cheap to minimize the stinky and maximize the sweetness of the pup's breath. Therefore, I beg of you to please leave a comment if you know of any home remedies that will work to correct this problem. Our noses cannot live like this much longer, please help now! This is a desperate dilemma we have found ourselves in. Suggestions wanted & welcomed. Thanks in advance, Beth, Glenn & the little stinker.

Hmm. Have you tried putting parsley in her food bowl? I remember nanny used to do that for that bulldog that she had. And why the sudden switch over to the organics? Just getting too many nitrates in that regular dog food?

Puppy breath will go away on its own. To combat bad breath in dogs, brush their teeth. You don't need a special toothbrush, but you do need a special toothpaste. It will help with her breath as well as allow her to live a better and healthier life. Good luck.
